My love for donkeys began long before The Dapper Donkeys was ever an idea. As a kid, I was an animal lover through and through, and like most young girls all I wanted was a horse. Instead, my dad came home with a donkey—a gift that would shape my childhood and eventually inspire this business. Over the years, I fell in love with everything that makes donkeys so special: their long ears, tiny hooves, curious personalities, and gentle nature. The more time I spent with them, the more I realized that some oftheir best qualities aren't all that different from the foundation of a great marriage. Donkeys thrive on trust, show quiet loyalty, and, yes, have just the right amount of stubbornness to keep going when things get tough. Maybe that's why they feel so at home celebrating love stories.
